To register as a parent coach, click on the registration info tab above and choose  Coach and or assistant in the program that matches your child's registration, or register for the program when you register your child.

Recreation

NSC's Recreation program provides an opportunity to play with a set team, practice during the week and have a game on the weekend.

Younger teams compete in league play in town, against other NSC teams, and occasionally with teams from neighboring towns.

Older teams may compete in the CJSA South West District's Rec-Plus league and some games are played out of town.

Teams are formed by Grade Level.

Parent Coaches are needed to guide teams. Trainers assist with the practices and can help guide Parent Coaches if requested.

Travel

The Newtown Soccer Club sponsors Travel (Classic) team play for players eligible to play in the U-9 to U-19 age brackets as defined by the CJSA and USYSA (age brackets follow).  Age groups are determined by birth year, and teams are created through a competitive try out in June for the following year. Try out evaluations look at a player’s soccer skills, speed, agility, understanding of the game, coachability, and a desire to better his or herself. Each team is provided a professional coach who attends both practices and games. To support our high school age players, we will attempt to sponsor teams for boys and girls that could be eligible for play in a U-16 to U-19 league for the spring season. Playing on a travel team is a commitment that includes traveling for games, one to two games a weekend and two practices a week. Teams generally attend a tournament each season (usually local to Connecticut). We welcome multi-sport athletes and will understand if children need to miss part of a practice for a game. However during soccer season, we encourage you to prioritize soccer, especially games and Cup games. The focus of the Club at the Travel level is both development and competitiveness.

NSC Competes in the SouthWest District of CJSA.
